Upcoming Movies: Cinematic wait in Late 2023 and 2024

The Bucks community is buzzing with excitement as a diverse array of movies prepares to hit the big screens in late 2023 and 2024.

Industry Turbulence,

This year posed challenges for the entertainment industry with the Writers Guild of America strike and the Screen Actors Guild-America Federation of Television and Radio Artists strike. In protest against the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers over a labor dispute, hundreds of thousands participated, leading to cancellations and delays in several movies and shows.

Fortunately, the strikes concluded on Sept. 27 and Nov. 9, respectively, with fruitful negotiations and significant benefits for the members of both guilds.

Anticipating Aquaman’s Return,

Tara Goddard expresses her anticipation, stating, “I can’t wait to see ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.’ As a devoted Jason Momoa fan, I believe it will vividly showcase Atlantis. The chosen imagery for Atlantis is intriguing, and I anticipate an action-packed cinematic experience.” However, due to the guild strikes, the movie, starring Jason Momoa as Aquaman, faced a delay, shifting its original release date from Dec. 16 to Dec. 22.

Bad Boys Back in Action,

Logan David looks forward to “Bad Boys 4,” appreciating the continuation of the series and anticipating more comedic action. Starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, along with actors from the previous installment, Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, and Paola Núñez, the filming faced a pause during the SAG-AFTRA strike. Despite this, the studio remains confident in meeting the scheduled release on June 14.

Unraveling the Spiderverse,

Deven Marilyn eagerly awaits “Beyond the Spiderverse,” intrigued by unresolved issues from “Across the Spiderverse” and captivated by the unique art style. Originally set for release on March 29, the movie’s fate remains uncertain due to the strikes affecting voice work. Fans hope for a sooner rather than later release date.

Wonka’s Modern Twist,

Nicole Griscavage is excited about “Wonka,” anticipating a modern twist on a childhood classic. The only hiccup occurred with actor Timothée Chalamet, whose involvement in “Dune 2” delayed the movie’s release to 2024. Nevertheless, “Wonka” stands firm on its Dec. 15 release date.

Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour,

Christina Lorino looks forward to “Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour Film,” expressing excitement to witness Beyoncé’s performances on the big screen. This documentary, unaffected by the strikes, was filmed before the 2023 disruptions and is set to release on Dec. 1. It offers an intimate look at Beyoncé’s 39-city tour across Europe and North America, promising an extraordinary cinematic experience for fans.
