Jake Gyllenhaal Celebrates 43rd Birthday Wearing Patrick Swayze Shirt Ahead of His Road House Remake

The actor is set to star as John Dalton, the role Swayze originated, in an upcoming 'Road House' remake

Jake Gyllenhaal turned 43 on Tuesday, and he celebrated with a nod to his upcoming film.

In an Instagram post Wednesday, Gyllenhaal thanked his followers and fans for all the birthday wishes

as he shared a photo of himself smiling at a dinner table with a mostly-eaten birthday cake, a candle, and drinks.

He was wearing a Patrick Swayze shirt, an ode to the actor who originated the role of John Dalton in 1989’s Road House,

which Gyllenhaal is reprising in an upcoming remake.

The reimagined version will see Gyllenhaal as a former UFC fighter who takes a job as a bouncer at a rough

and-tumble roadhouse in the Florida Keys but soon discovers that not everything is what it seems in this tropical paradise, according to a synopsis.

On Thursday, fans got their first glimpse at the actor in the film in two clips shown in Prime Video’s sizzle reel for 2024 as they teased the movie.

In the brief first look, Gyllenhaal’s impressive physique was on display as he stood shirtless in a ring,

and in the next clip, a brawl broke out as he slapped three men, dodged punches from another, and dominated in a street fight.
