UM, the media agency under IPG, has appointed Erin Quintana, its chief client officer, as the new U.S. CEO.

The move follows the replacement of Joe DiMiero, whose tenure as U.S. CEO was marked by client losses, management concerns, and executive departures.

DiMiero, currently on leave, faced allegations of questionable leadership,

including running a shadow team from Dallas, leading to client losses like Nationwide and Zillow.

Three rounds of layoffs in 2023 were attributed to DiMiero's management style.

Quintana, with 15 years at UM, is praised for strong client relationships and previously led the pitch-winning UM global General Mills business.

She will report to UM's global CEO Andrea Suarez and aims to accelerate growth in 2024.

Quintana's experience includes overseeing account management and leading J3, UM's unit for the J&J business.

UM looks to build on momentum under Quintana's leadership, focusing on growth for clients, the community, and the industry.
