Police say that German actor Christian Oliver and his two children died in a plane crash in the Caribbean.
In the movie Speed Racer and Valkyrie, the star had left the country of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) and was on his way to St. Lucia on Thursday.
Moments after taking off, the aircraft experienced difficulties and plummeted into the ocean,” experts say.
Christ Klepser, the actor, was 51 years old, and his daughters Madita, 10, and Annik, 12, were also killed.
Robert Sachs, an American man who owned and flew the plane, was also killed.
A statement from the Royal SVG Police Force says that divers and fishermen from Paget Farm on the small island of Bequia went to the scene to help.
The SVG Coast Guard also came and got all four victims “from the aircraft/sea.
Their bodies have been taken to St. Vincent, where autopsies will be done in the next few days.
In a statement, Klepser’s team said, “Our thoughts and prayers are with him, his two daughters, and his family.
The reason for the crash has not been found yet.
The Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority told CBS News, which is the US partner of the BBC, that it is “at the moment gathering information to help with the investigation.”
There was “all appropriate consular assistance” being given by the US State Department to the families of the victims.
Klepser was also in the Steven Soderbergh movie The Good German and played a detective in two seasons of the famous German show Alarm for Cobra 11.
