A pilot, Mr. Oliver’s two young girls, and another person were also killed in the crash, police in St. Vincent and the Grenadines claimed Thursday.

Five people were killed Thursday when the small plane they were on crashed on their way to the Caribbean island of St. Lucia. They were Christian Oliver, an actor who worked in films and TV shows, his two children, and the pilot.

The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force said in a statement on Thursday that Mr. Oliver, 51, who was in “The Good German,” “Speed Racer,” and the TV show “Saved by the Bell: The New Class,” and his daughters were the only people on board the single-engine plane that crashed into the water at noon while flying from Bequia, an island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Police say that along with Mr. Oliver and his daughters Madita Klepser, 10, and Annik Klepser, 12, the pilot, Robert Sachs, was also killed. Police said in a statement on Friday that the bodies were found by fishermen and divers who then gave them to the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Coast Guard.

Police said the plane had problems and plummeted into the ocean” soon after taking off from Bequia’s J.F. Mitchell Airport. They said that the reason of the crash was still being looked into, but they didn’t say anything else.

Caprice Crawford, Mr. Oliver’s contact in Berlin, said in an email on Friday that the man was born in Germany and had citizenship in both that country and the United States. She said that he split his time between Los Angeles and his home country and worked under the name Christian Oliver instead of his full name, Christian Oliver Klepser.

In 2006, Mr. Oliver worked with Steven Soderbergh on the movie “The Good German,” which starred George Clooney and Cate Blanchett. Among his other work were speaking roles in “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” (2023) and “Valkyrie” (2008), which starred Tom Cruise.

His new movie, Forever Hold Your Peace, was just finished filming, and he shared a picture from the set on social media about a week ago.

This week, Mr. Oliver shared his last picture, saying it was “from somewhere in paradise.

Nick Lyon, the director, and Mr. Oliver were working together to make the movie “Forever Hold Your Peace,” which is about a fake marriage. In an interview on Friday, Mr. Lyon said that Mr. Oliver had texted him on Thursday morning to let him know that he was going to work on a scene in the US on Friday.
