What’s the reason? Miley Cyrus’ NBC special ‘New Year’s Eve Party’ was cancelled?

Miley Cyrus’ NBC special “New Year’s Eve Party” will not be aired this year.

Miley Cyrus won’t be ringing in 2023 for her traditional New Year’s Eve concert special because of a change in scheduling at NBC.

The network has decided to broadcast the NFL match between Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings instead of the singer’s Peacock concert because the 31st of December falls on the Sunday of this year.

Cyrus has hosted the Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party for the past two years, along with special guests such as Dolly Parton. The event last year’s celebrity-studded party lasted 2 hours long and included performances from Cyrus, Parton, Sia, Latto, Rae Sremmurd and many other artists. But, the fans will be waiting until 2024 for the chance to be able to witness Cyrus start the new year in a second time.

The decision is a major blow in an otherwise stellar year for Cyrus her hit single Wrecking Ball has recently become the most streamed single ever on Spotify. On November 1, she gave the rare appearance live on Flowers along with an unreleased track during an intimate LA performance.

Although NBC has decided to go with to play a football match instead of a music festival this year, Cyrus’ New Year’s Eve performance proved to be a huge success with the audience when it premiered in 2021.
